Ivy O (BOA SocSci)

1.What is your name, what position are you running for, and could you please sum up your platform in one sentence?
My name is Ivy O, and I am running for one of six seats as Faculty Director for the Faculty of Social Sciences on the Board of Administration. In terms of my platform, it is about being an honest and dependable voice for Social Science students.
2.Name one thing the University of Ottawa administration is doing right.
The UofO Administration did a great job of controlling the bus strike situation, providing shuttle service, and then even offering free housing, which also included Allan Rock opening up his home to two students. Amazing!
3.What is the largest problem on campus?
I will answer this from the students' perspective... The campus is divided, and we saw this after last semester's referendum. For there to be any progress, students from both sides (there may be more than two) must start working together to bring what the students (the ones who aren't from the usual circle of people involved in SFUO or campus activities) want and need.
4.What can you bring to the SFUO/BOA/BOG that no other candidate can (aka why should someone vote for you)?
There are a number of candidates for the BOA who have worked toward a cause, or is an activist of some sort. I can't say that I'm an activist, but I can say that I am hard-working individual with strive and determination. I don't give up when it comes to fighting for issues that matter to me, and to the students that I will be representing if elected.
5.And to steal a question from my co-op workbook: if you came back from a meeting and there was an elephant in your office, what would you do?
I would think of an awesome name for him/her like Bart Simpson did when he won an elephant (he named his Stampy) from that radio station... KBBL (just wiki'ed it the name of the station...) and then show him/her off to all of my co-workers!

Ivy sent me her answers all in blue. I didn't touch anything!
I do like that she went and wiki'd KBBL, nice touch.
