There is talk about campus print:
It's in french so I'll avoid trying to get all this down. Roxanne points out that they have rush service and it's convenient for students.
Marueen: Says Merriam print is just on laurier, campus print must evolve if they want to be able to compete. Said something about 101 week, I didn't catch it.
Question about how to re-invest SFUO surplus:
Marueen: Scholarships and bursaries. Says she is in her 2nd year and already largely in debt, feels this is effective way to spend money. Ask students for input on surplus.
Roxanne: Says we need to speak carefully about budgeting a surplus. She says this year they budgeted for a surplus of $100 000, and by this point in the year it's already been largely used up. Can't assume that there will always be a surplus, brings up talk of economic downturn.
Question about 1848:
Roxanne: Food options more successful, finally broke even this year. Thinks that 1848 could reach out to more groups by expanding its program. Rebuts Maureen's desire to add a kitchen by stating that it would reduce capacity from ~140 to ~100.
Maureen: On the offensive about the kitchen. Targets Chartwells, other bars, wants to be able to compete. Wants to bring more student associations to 1848. Maureen
Does the SFUO pay its employees well?
Laughs break out in the room.
Maureen: She's cautious, basically takes line that she'd have to take a look at it, can't say much now.
Roxanne: Ok, I'll be honest, I just didn't follow this one at all. See if Serge got it.
