Mike Fancie (Senate)

1.What is your name, what position are you running for, and could you please sum up your platform in one sentence?
Mike Fancie, University Senate.
Platform-in-a-sentence: What would a university be without students?

2.Name one thing the University of Ottawa administration is doing right.
It's refrained from printing McDonald's coupons on the back of diplomas- so far.

3.What is the largest problem on campus?
Tuition Fees - by September, mine will have increased by fully $600 a
year since I started school!

4.What can you bring to the SFUO/BOA/BOG that no other candidate can (aka why should someone vote for you)?
I am committed to working in the student interest, as I have been since
2006 (my life for three months last year was the Ottawa Drop Fees rally I
partially organized). I will be at the Senate to advocate for students on
issues from tuition fees to a better academic appeals process to
international students' rights - not to schmooze with Deans to get a
letter of recommendation.

5.And to steal a question from my co-op workbook: if you came back from a meeting and there was an elephant in your office, what would you do?
As if I had my own office...

  1. To Mike Francie, You are an embarrassment to the human race,“Just another example of the liberal mindset, facts, logic, reason and reality have no place in a liberal idealists mind, there just isn't enough room”.
